BMT Wins $40 Million Contract With US Navy
BMT Designers & Planners, Inc. today announces it has won a five year contract to support the US Navy.
The contract was awarded by the Ship Integration and Design: Cost, Research and Development, and Acquisition Program branches of the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Carderock Division.
The contract is a level-of-effort type providing 470,000 man-hours of support over a five year period to a total of USD 39,715,000 on a project-by-project basis. BMT expects to work on 200-300 projects over the course of the new contract.
The support to be provided will cover systems engineering for total ship and ship systems. BMT will utilise its expertise in the fields of naval architecture, marine engineering, systems analysis, systems definition, systems integration, technology demonstration test and evaluation, acquisition planning and cost estimation.
Typical sponsors of work at NSWC are:
- Program Executive Office (PEO)
- Ships and Subs, Naval Sea Systems Command Surface Ship design and Development Directorate (NAVSEA 05)
- Office of Naval Research (ONR)
BMT will be working with a range of specialist subcontractors to support the brief, including Computer Sciences Corp. and Alion Science and Technology. The work will be primarily performed in Washington, DC area.
