A&P Falmouth agrees Long Term Agreement with BMT Defence Services
A&P Falmouth has selected naval design consultancy BMT Defence Services Ltd as an approved supplier.
A&P Falmouth’s accreditation of BMT Defence Services Ltd, a subsidiary of BMT Ltd, strengthens the
Bath-based company’s reputation and presence within the UK’s fleet support market.
“It is an excellent development to be appointed as an approved supplier for A&P Falmouth,” says
BMT Defence Services, Managing Director, Roger Cooper. “As a leading independent naval design house,
I’m delighted that BMT’s experience and expertise have been recognised by the UK’s foremost commercial
ship repairer. This now means that we will be providing A&P Falmouth with comprehensive naval design
capability as part of their refit and repair services.
With a ship repair heritage stretching back over 140 years, A&P Falmouth’s facilities have been developed
and improved over the years to provide comprehensive dry-docking operations and services.
Already, as part of the Long Term Agreement between the two companies, BMT is undertaking extensive
design work on behalf of A&P Falmouth on the Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship RFA Argus, which is about to
enter its Ship Life-Extension Programme (SLEP).
BMT has also recently achieved approved supplier status for French naval defence company DCN and Spanish
shipbuilder Navantia.
